(Summer CRN ) This course provides an overview of psychological research and practice as it pertains to the lives and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ individuals and communities. Topics include: historical treatment of LGBTQ+ individuals within the field of psychology, LGBTQ+-inclusive research methods within Psychology, identity development and coming out, LGBTQ+ relationships, families and parenting, transgender and nonbinary identities, conversion therapy and other controversies in the field, prejudice, stigma and discrimination, minority stress theory, and LGBTQ+ health. Three credits.
