(Winter CRN 61478) Students will learn basic nutrition science principles with emphasis on energy, macronutrients, vitamins and minerals required by humans for health and fitness. Topics will include foundational nutrition guidelines, nutrient functions, their food sources and how the body handles them. The role of nutrients, a healthy diet, fluid and supplements in exercise will be emphasized. Credit will be granted for only one of HNU 163 or 363 (HNU 163 is not acceptable for credit in the BSc HNU degree or BSc HKIN Minor in Nutrition).

Step 2: Follow the prompts after you complete the above step. When you get to the step that asks for your “Planned Course of Study”, select “Non-Degree” in the drop-down menu.
Step 3: Fill out a Letter of Permission (LOP) form from your Home Institution (contact your university's Registrar's Office)
Step 4: Ensure the desired course works for your degree. Consult with your Department Chair/Dean/Registrar to ensure that the credits will count toward your degree or graduation and have them sign off on your LOP.
Step 5: Send the forms to the proper Registrars:
• Email your completed LOP to the Registrar at your university as well as the university at which you will be taking the course(s).
